Year 9

There have been several changes to OTF in the past year.  On the technical side of things, Iain has added some wonderful new toys.  First was the release of the Armory 2.0, or the Bullet-Time Armory.  The new Armory is much easier to understand and use, and only takes about half the time that the old Armory did.  Also, a Friends feature was added to the Dossier design.  OTF members can request that other members be added to their friends list, and this list is displayed in their Dossiers.  Another advance was the Character Preview function.  This is included in the login pages of the chat rooms, and allows members to see what their character, such as avatar, tagline and affiliation, will look like in chat before actually entering the chat.

Year Nine also saw the creation of a new division within the OTF Entertainment Network.  Special Ops was created to undertake the projects that Entertainment was involved in that didn’t fall under the jurisdiction of the previously formed divisions.  The Holiday Team was disbanded and reformed under the Special Ops flag as the Holiday Sites and Events Team. The Notwerk and and Simming are also included in Special Ops, along with a new team:  Coding Ops.  Coding Ops is in charge of coding the Entertainment sites and projects.  Also, a team for helping fellow Entertainment minions, MLO Resources was added to Special Ops.  A big thank you to Special Ops for making this Anniversary Site possible!

OTF has continued to grow, and with over 16,000 registered members, and hundreds of regular chatters, it is sure grow more.  The talent and dedication of the membership is always appreciated, and helps OTF become more appealing to more and more people.  Unions, both Official and Unofficial, are held every few months, in different parts of the world.  OTF is truly a place where anyone, no matter what nationality, religion, or race, can come together and discuss not only Science Fiction and Fantasy, but their everyday lives and other interests, and will continue to for years to come.
