Year 8
Shortly in to another new year, the Star Trek Sector Command
began producing a monthly newsletter to keep membership updated with what was occurring within the Star Trek genre at Outpost 10F. The One-Zero Report was launched, including within it updates by Sector Command, articles by members, and recognition
of members affiliated with the ST genre. Soon after, Minas Tirith SC produced a similar, but short lived newsletter [Trenaro i narn - Recite the Tale]. Eventually, however, the One-Zero Report became the more "Global" report-newsletter for the membership.
Following the success of the Minas Tirith Wizards, Star Trek Sector Command created their own team of "assistants" to aid them with Star Trek related projects, running the chat rooms, and helping the affiliated members. The One-Zero Division was launched! Shortly after, Star Wars SC followed suit, creating The Senate
in order to aid the SW SC with running all things Star Wars at OTF.
In March of 2005, one of the biggest changes in OTF's eight years occurred.
After leading the Outpost for almost eight years, and over-seeing it's growth in
to what it has become, Andrew Maxwell retired from his position as Vice
Commander of OTF.
In his stead Andrew placed the equally as capable Crazy Texan as his replacement. CT took the position with gratitude and great respect for Andrew, hoping to lead OTF just as well as his predecessor. The membership were saddened to see Andrew retire but were glad to see the position going to someone just as capable.
Also during year eight, the latest and last Star Wars prequel was to be released. Star Wars Sector Command saw the opportunity to redesign the CCC, in preparation for what would undoubtedly be an influx of Star Wars fans. For the first time since it was launched the Cloud City Cantina
was given an entirely new look. Views were mixed about these changes, but overall the new design was received well by the membership.
2005 also saw the relaunch of the OTF Tribune, bringing a more official newsletter to OTF patrons, inlcuding news from departments and members, humorous content, and reviews and articles.
